The International Youth Day Celebration 2020 was marked on 12th of August in a unique way by members of AK.Passion Initiative APi a platform which was formed for the purpose of youth development and capacity building.

The theme of this year’s celebration tagged “Youth Engagement for Global Action” by the United Nations seek to highlight the ways in which the engagement of young people at the local, National and global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes, as well as draw lessons on how their representation and engagement in formal institutional politics can significantly enhanced.

This year’s IYD also seeks to put the spotlight on youth engagement through the following three interconnected streams: Engagement at the local/community level; Engagement at the national level (formulation of laws, policies, and their implementation); and Engagement at the global level.

The program of the day features Leadership Training, Interactive Session on Roles of youths in Nations growth and development, History of International Youth Day and Quiz and Give Away segment was held on Organization’s whatapp platform with over 200 participants.

The major highlights of the event was the election of new executives and team members who were saddled with the responsibilities of administering the affairs of the Organization for the next one year. The following were duely elected for the available offices.

In his message to Nigerian youth Comr. Adeyemo Akeem. Akpassion the founder of the Initiative uses the medium to commend all Nigerian Youths, individuals and Nigeria Government at all levels for including the youth in governance and also urge them to make more policies that will reduce the increasing rate of unemployment in the country.

The program was anchored by Comr. Ibrahim Ogunbanwo from NYCN Lekki Branch, Lecture was delivered by Comr. Usman Akeem Bamidele YOUCAN Initiative while Comr. Mayowa Odunaike supervised the election of the new executives.
