The Rivers State Police Command today played host to the pioneer Zonal Commander of Zone 16 Headquarters Yenagoa, AIG Austin IAgbonlahor psc,MNIM, FCAI, fdc who touched base at the State Headquarters and had a robust interactive Session with Officers and Men of the Command.

According to the Rivers State PPRO, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, the AIG and his Team were received on arrival by the Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph G. Mukan psc (+) and his team.

Welcoming the AIG, the CP, in his address thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM, mni, for blessing the fledging Zone with an astute Administrator who had served the Force in various capacities and still counting, with the view of bringing his wealth of experience to bear.

The CP also reeled out the challenges of the Command and craved the indulgence of the AIG to make a case for the Command, while assuring him that the Command will not be deterred but will continue to strive to entrench quality policing service that will stand the test of time.

Responding the AIG, promised to do all within his powers to address the concerns raised by the CP, noting that he was impressed with the synergetic relationship with the Command and the public, including the sister security Agencies.

He applauded the CP’s commitment in keying into the IGP’s Community Policing Initiative and further directed that the clampdown on proliferation of prohibited firearms must be vigorously enforced and all illegal firearms mopped up in accordance with the Firearms Act.

Highlight of the AIG’s Visit was the inspection of the Recruitment Exercise currently going on at the Civic Centre, Moscow Road Port Harcourt.

In attendance were Senior Officers of the Command, DPOs/HODs and Members of the Inspectorate and Rank and File.
