Ojokoro boss seeks Lagos, Ogun State CPs support to tackle insecurity

In what appeared to be his concern for insecurity in Ojokoro local council development area, its chairman, Hon. Hammed Idowu D Tijani (HID), has met with security chiefs at the council secretariat in Ijaiye recently.

The meeting , which was well attended by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps, the Civil Defence, and all the five Divisional Police Officers in the council discussed various modalities to forestall peace in MAO Junction, Fagba and other areas that have been a thorn in the flesh of the council area.

However, arrowheads of the several miscreants’ groups had been identified and necessary actions are being planned to whittle down their activities.

While responding to the boundaries challenge that has been the major obstacle in preventing the police from carrying out their duties effectively, the council boss promised to involve higher authorities to come to the council’s aide as the council’s share large part of its boundary with Ogun State.

“We need the support and synergy of both Lagos State Commissioner of Police and that of Ogun State to see to the end of this security challenge, most especially in MAO Junction Killington, Dalemo in Alakuko, Ajegunle and its environs”, he said.

“The most annoying thing is that our police are really working tirelessly to flush out these miscreants but they usually run down to Ogun State and still have the guts to tell security personnel that they are already in Ogun and this is usually so painful”, he said.

In the same vein, he further used the medium to warn residents against the use of fireworks and bangers this Yuletide season, adding that banger sales and use are prohibited in the council area and its environs.
