LATEEF JAKANDE: CJPAN Mourns Doyen Of Journalism

Celebrity Journal Publishers Association of Nigeria, (CJPAN) has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to mourn the departure of the former Editor of Tribune and the last man standing amongst his contemporaries, Alhaji Lateef Jakande.

He was committed to mother earth Friday,

While the association urged Nigerian leaders to emulate his lifestyles, they pray that the legscies he left behind not to be made to perish.

According to its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sanya Ojo, the President used the occasion to console with his family to bear this irreparable loss.
This statement was disclosed during an emergency meeting summoned by the President, Mr. Josua Uloko held on Friday in Lagos State, Nigeria.

However, the former Lagos State Governor and the doyen of Nigeria Journalism died yesterday at the aged of 91 years.

He was a Nigerian journalist who became governor of Lagos State between 1979 and 1983. He later became Minister of Works under the Sani Abacha military regime (1993–98).

Jakande was born on July 23, 1929 and died 11 February 2021 at the aged of 91 years .
