This is to officially draw the attention of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ifako Ijaiye Local Government chairman, Usman Hamsat, Ojokoro chairman, HID TIJANI, and Area Commander, Area G Police Station, Commander Zungura who covers Ifako-Ijaiye axis to the statement above in other to avert another dangerous calamity in Fagba axis.
In view of this, I would like to use this medium to pass this privileged information as Lagos/Lagosians are already sitting on a keg of gun powder.
The present situation of Fagba axis is no longer safe to lives and properties and therefore becoming unbearable as several people had related their sad experiences while I witnessed this about 9:30pm yesterday, Thursday June 2, 2022. This incident happened right between Daddy Savage junction and Fagba bus stop.
People were mugged with impunity; while Red House police vehicle/van usually stationed before now, at Savry but suddenly disappeared with nowhere to be found!
Even if those policemen were sighted, surely, they were only at that station for something different entirely; whether to extort the motorists or arrest traffic offenders either of the two basis, I have my point on the afformentioned allegations because it has severally happened in my presence in which I took pictures of extortion at the scene without the knowledge of the our Police force.
Recently, I have seen a scenario whereby a small boy amongst those truck pushers within 30 seconds snatched a phone from a passenger seated inside Keke Napep (Tricycle) while on traffic in the presence of those policemen. We all saw him while he ran towards the rail-line within the Abattoir axis.
They (Hausa boys) are mostly teenagers, whom we see everyday begging for alms or run across the market/ rail line to the abattoir.
During our a Vox Pop with another victim, he recalled “my wife witnessed one around 6 a.m sometimes back between Oparo and Zenith bank and her colleague quickly entered the car after using the ATM. They attacked him while on his way to work, blood dripping from him while he was shouting ole( thief). The perpetrators’ colleagues; Hausas attackers too were also shouting ole(thief) and running towards Fagba bus stop, it was raining on that faithful Saturday. Some other people were robbed”.
For me, something urgent needs to be done as fast as possible to protect lives and property to avoid further re-occurence and see how lives can be protected.
My major concern is those Hausas/Fulanis teenagers that always gather themselves at Fagba junction on daily basis doing nothing, similar cases have been reported by this medium in the year past during the era of the former Ifako Ijaiye Local government chairman, Apostle OlorunToba Oke.
He singlehandedly warned and addressed those guys to desist from their evil acts or else they will face the wrath of the government, this was Toba Oke’s words then.
Guess, we would recall what happened during endsars protest? We saw how those guys went out midnight to set many houses/shops ablaze, without nothing done till date.
Another step has to be looked at the Fagba railway line/ Abattoir axis, otherwise lives and properties are not safe in that axis.
Now the same ugly scenario is about to resurface again. I wish our political rulers, the Ifako-Ijaye local government, Ojokoro LCDA and Lagos state government could adhere towards this popular saying “A stich in time is just for the wise”!
