IGP commiserates with family of Late DIG Ajao, promises to continue to celebrate fallen heroes

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to continually honour and celebrate its fallen Heroes who have served the country diligently.
CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, made this statement in a press release on behalf of the IGP Baba in Abuja.
He made the call recently while confirming and announcing the passing into glory of DIG Ajao, which occurred in the early hours of last Friday at the University College Hospital Ibadan.
Ajao, who hailed from Oluponna, Osun state, was the pioneer AIG in charge of the Force Intelligence Unit, a DIG of Police in charge of Force Criminal Investigations, and later perations before his retirement in 2010 after a meritorious service to the nation.
The IGP furthered described him as a man of great proportions, adding that the late DIG during his service period featured prominently in advancing the community policing agenda.
Even after retirement, IGP Baba commended the contribution of Ajao in the service of the country and Lagos State, noting that he “held many think-tank positions within the State apparatus including the board Chairman of the Neighborhood Safety Corps, Lagos State”.
While saying that the deceased would be greatly missed in the gathering of the nation’s eggheads, the IGP said late Ajao studied at University of Ibadan, and the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
IGP Baba, who prayed for the repose of the deceased commiserated with the family, relatives, and friends, and wished them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.
