The frontrunner in the race for Lagos West Senatorial Seat, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule has called on women to justify the confidence repose in them by ensuring her victory at the 2023 general elections.
Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, a former deputy governor of the state, made the call today when she visited Ajeromi-Ifelodun LGA in continuation of her campaign and sensitization exercise for women and artisans across the 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the senatorial district.
The event which had in attendance political leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the LGA was hosted by the council Executive Chairman, Hon. Fatai Adekunle Ayoola.
In her address, Adebule who was accompanied to the event by members of her campaign council led by the chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Ajala expressed her profound appreciation to the party faithfuls for their unending support as she specifically called on the women to deliver their votes for her victory and other candidates of the party in the polls as she also promise to empower young people and women when elected.
She also noted that her emergence as the party candidate is a testament to the party’s ideology of encouraging women’s participation in politics.
Her words: “I appreciate you for your support. We don’t have much to say today because they’ve given us (women) the political opportunity to serve, the political opportunity we’ve been clamoring for to contribute our quota in making our society and the world at large better. It’s up to us to speak with our votes for the common good of all. We should justify the trust they have reposed in us with our votes. I humbly appeal for your support and prayer to emerge victorious come February.”
In his remarks, the host chairman assured Dr. Adebule of the council’s continued support at all times as he promised to reciprocate her visit with resounding and massive votes from the council.
Another highlight of the event was the Mega Empowerment Program carried out by the council boss for residents of the council area.
The colorful and well-attended event also had in attend hundreds of youths in the LGA who are members of Adebule Youth Ambassador (AYA).
