As the scourge of the novel coronavirus disease continues to spread across the world, the Executive Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Govt, Apostle Dr. Oloruntoba Oke, has called on residents, parents and guardians in the area, to educate their children and wards on the virus.
He also urged them to strictly adhere to all prescribed preventive measures by the World Health Organization(WHO), saying the task of creating awareness and preventing the spread of the menace could not be left to the government alone.
He said measures are being taken to contain the disease in the local government area, while alerting all public and private health facilities are to be cautious about anyone who has fever, cough, cold, difficulty in breathing, diarrhoea and body pains.
While lauding Sanwo-Olu’s administration prompt response to the reported two index case which earlier tested negative to the disease, Oke urged residents of the area to stay calm, noting “he was confident in the state’s health system.”
The chairman said further that the surveillance and response system for coronavirus has been scaled-up in the state and all measures are being taken to contain the disease.
He urged the residents to always maintain high level of personal hygiene by washing their hands often with water and soap and using hand sanitizer.
