*Comdt. Obiyo tasked participants to uphold high ethical and moral pedigree
In a bid to ensure professionalism with enhanced service delivery, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command in line with the directive of its commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi has conducted psychological assessment test and evaluations on the recruits currently undergoing training and officers bearing firearms to ensure that they are mentally and emotionally fit to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
Declaring the programme open , Mr Everestus C. Obiyo JP, the State Commandant, said the central purpose of the exercise was to ascertain the psychological status of participants through identifying behavioural tendencies and competencies and recommend appropriate intervention programme in the areas of psycho-social needs .
“This Psychological test a well thought out idea by the Commandant General is meant to assess your personality, which includes leadership skills, moral and social traits and the ability to perform in a non convenient situations. You will agree with me that after this exercise, each of us will be better positioned for the task ahead” he said.
He lauded the CG for the initiative towards curbing negative attitudes among personnel and enjoined participants to cooperate with the forensic team during the exercise.
Also speaking, Aham Uchenna from Behavioral Forensics Unit, National Headquarters Abuja, said the Commandant General and his management team graciously approved the exercise with a view that personnel are assessed psychologically to ascertain their mental state in delivering on the Corps mandate and in the bearing of live weapons.
According to him, the exercise became necessary to indentify tendencies that may require psycho- social interventions which at the end will make up a robust forensic data base for the Corps.
