Adewale holds annual constituency stakeholders meeting, urges residents to register, collect pvcs

The member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Ifako-Ijaye Constituency 01, Hon. Adewale Temitope, has appealed to eligible voters of the local government, who are yet to pick up their permanent voters cards(pvc) to ensure that they are collected and vote so as to avoid voter apathy.
He was speaking at the 8th edition of the Lagos State House of Assembly Stakeholders meeting recently held at Ifako-Ijaye Local Government Secretariat, Idiagbon, Ifako, Lagos.
He said it is only with their pvcs that the residents could carry out their civil obligation in the 2023 general election.
Also speaking at the occasion, the INEC officer in the local government, Mr. Joshua Kayode Adelusi, sensitized the residents on their activities and pleaded to the residents to ensure that they register and collect their pvcs so as to vote in 2023 general elections.
He said that about 100,000 pvcs have not been collected in the local government, while urging those who have not gotten their own cards to visit the office at Ojokoro to pick them up.
He also appealed to the residents and especially those who are up to the required voting age, 18 to take advantage of the extension of the registration to register in various locations and so as to vote in 2023 general election.
Meanwhile, the highlights of the discussion is the challenge confronting the residents on registration and collection of new voters cards, which the inec officer in the local government answered to all enquiries and solutions were proffered.
From observations, all the stakeholders, ranging from Obas, baales, political office holders and others that attended the event are ready to mobilise for the collection of voters cards in the local government.
Earlier, the chairman of the local government, Prince Usman Hamzat, in his welcome speech all eligible residents to come out and register and collect their new cards.
He urged the party members to mobilize for voters registration, saying that the coming election is very critical to him and other residents in the South-West because of the calibre of those involved in the next general elections in 2023 ranging from Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of APC, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Reps and the State Assembly elections.
He praised the assembly member for his efforts and drive for development of the local government.
