The executives of the Security And Safety Electronics Marketers Association of Nigeria ( SSEMAN ), led by its National Chairman, Mr Mbang Eworo, has sensitized members on the need to handle the matters of security and safety, very seriously
Said he, “the Association has a long history of partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, in line with its statutory mandate and wishes to solidify it ahead of their brand new professional engagements and improvements.”
The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps ( CC ) Eweka Edenabu Okoro, msc, acma, cna, was ably represented, by the Command’s Public Relations Officer ( CDPRO ), Assistant Superintendent of Corps I ( ASCI ) Abolurin Oluwaseun, who delivered his speech and goodwill messages at the security and safety forum organized for members .
The association, which hope to engage and partner much more relevant stakeholders; including Professional Institutes, Academic Institutions, Associations and Security Agencies et ce tera, agreed to join efforts, with the NSCDC, Lagos State Command, to stamp out unprofessionalism and unethical approach, amongst their members, whose businesses have to do with unprofessional and uunauthorizedsale of security gadgets and safety equipment amongst others.
The forum organized today, by SSEMAN, at the Slot Hall, opposite Access Bank, Medical Road, in Ikeja, also witnessed, intellectual speeches on security and safety presented, by Dr ( Amb., ) Victoria Ekhomu, Chairman Trans – World Security and ASIS Foundation Board of Trustees, Mr Tokunbo Smith, Director General SSEMAN, Mr Tolulayo Salami, National Secretary SSEMAN, Professor Odikaesieme Emmanus, Chairman Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria ( ALPSPN ), Delta State Chapter, Mr Kenny Fasipe , Media Director SSEMAN, Deputy Superintendent of Police ( DSP ) Folashade Akeem, O/C Computer Village Police Post, Mr Augustine Ikwuezunma
MD/CEO, ZUNVISION I-SECURITY and Chairman Computer Village Chapter SSEMAN, which was also flagged off today, Managing Directors of Private Security Companies, members of SSEMAN, amidst other participants, from all walks of life .
Finally, the forum, which was an interactive one, presented the opportunity for the speakers to analyse the causes and effects of insecurity and safety challenges in the nation and this gave the impetus for apt recommendations made to the government and the society such as; professionalism, deployment of technology, in solving security and safety challenges, collaboration with sister Security Agencies, regular cross – fertilization of ideas and robust intelligence gathering, reporting, and processing as well standardization and political will.
