The 2022 Nigeria Raggae festival is set to hold in November this year in Lagos, Nigeria.
The event, which will be held at International Trade Fair Complex, Lagos according to the organisers would be a three-day event.
Speaking at a media chat in Lagos, the founder of Music Africa Awake Foundation, MUAFA, Prince Emeka Ojukwu, said that the Nigeria Raggae Festival would be used to preach peace, unity and love in Nigeria and African countries.
The organizers, who are worried over the spate of attacks and tension currently noticed daily in the society now hope that the reggae brand of music could be used as a tool to build the kind of society everybody will be happy to contribute his or her quota to its growth.
Prominent reggae artists across the world such as Jamaica, South Africa, Cuba, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and other Caribbean nations are expected to grace the occasion.
The festival, the organizers said has gotten the endorsement of the Lagos State and Jamaican governments and the support of Caribbean countries.
Mr. Hakeem Oke-David, who is the marketing consultant for the event, said the symposium, seminar, and exhibition are part of the activities lined up for the huge success of the event.
He noted that the hosting of the reggae in Lagos would attract investments into the country and help to alleviate the suffering of the youth.
Meanwhile, the woman leader in Amuwo-Odofin for Ohaneze, Chief Mrs Opreze, has appealed to the government to support the initiative of the organisers.
