LAGOS – The Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers [NSChe] has commended President Muhammad Buhari for his swift intervention leading to the restarting of operation at the Obajana Cement Plant.
In a press statement in Lagos signed by the President of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Engr. Saidu Aliyu Muhammed, at the weekend noted that the unfortunate disruption was a major threat to the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable stakeholders in the production site.
As he put it: “Cement production is a traditional treasure house of chemical engineers amongst all other professionals that under-guard an industrial company.”
NSChe appealed to Governor Yaya Bello of Kogi State and the President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, to resolve the contentious issue, threatening business’s continuity.
The Society however commended both parties for responding positively to President Buhari’s intervention while asking them to commit themselves ” to peaceful dialogue to fully resolve the contentious issue.
