Senator Adeola trains, empowers 3,000 constituents in skill acquisition agendas *Trainees get equipment, start-up grants

Nothing less than 3,000 constituents were empowered by the representative of Lagos- West Senatorial District, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon.
This was made known by Senator Adeola during the presentation of equipment and start-up grants to the trained constituents held today(October 31, 2022) at Ikeja, Lagos
Adeola, who expressed his happiness said this is the fourth skill acquisition and vocational programmes he would be organising this year, 2022 for both the youths and women folks.
He added that those who were being empowered today were trained in eleven areas of jobs, such as leatherworks, fashion, hairdressing, Barbing, fish production, interior decoration/Event planning, catering/ confectionaries, interlock block production, solar energy business, make up and gele and Agric value chain with the hope to be on their own.
The beneficiaries were provided with requisite equipment and start up cash grants of various sum.
,He explained further that his office collaborated with Federal Cooperative College, Oji and Federal College of Fisheries Technology, New Bussa to give thetrainees startt-up equipment and start-up grants.
Said he, in association with Federal Federal Cooperative College, Oji and Federal College of Fisheries Technology, New Bussa, all the trainees in the 11 focussed vocations are being given Training certificates in addition to their equipment and start-up grants”
He noted that since challenges facing the economy, job opportunities no longer existed both in the public and private sectors, pointing out this underground belief motivated him to facilitate the empowerment program where his constituents can be self-employed with needed skill acquisition and vocational training backed up by equipment and start-up grants.
He promised to organize more skill acquisition programs before the end of his tenure, which will end by next June as he moves to his new home, Ogun state to contest for the State’s West Senatorial District.
Earlier in their speeches, both Mr. Okeze Idowu, the representative of the Provost and the director of procurement, Federal Cooperative College, Orji River, and Mrs. Justine Ugwu, the representative of Provost of Federal College of Freshwater and FisheriesTechnology, urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of the equipment to start a new life.
They also pleaded with the beneficiaries not to sell the equipment.
A lot of accolades were poured on the Senator by the beneficiaries, who thanked him for all he did to lift them (his constituents) from poverty.
They added that as constituents, they have never enjoyed a representative and dividends of democracy as what the Senator has done or impacted in their lives.
