Proudly Davido set the social media ablaze as he revealed his longtime friend, Lati, who introduced his wife, Chioma Rowland aka Chefchi to him. Lati served as his best man at his wedding day.
In a short video posted on X, while preparing for his wedding, the pop star could be seen hugging his bosom friend Lati.
In the conversation that followed later, Davido said “You know say na Lati Introduce me to my wife,” the people at the room were all surprised to hear this.
Toward the end of the video, they screamed Brother Lati out of excitement.
Also, earlier this year, in an interview with YouTuber Tayo Aina, Davido revealed how he met Chioma, he said: “I was in school for a year before I blew up.
A few things to know about Lati.
That was when I met my wife. I remember the day I saw her. I can never forget it. “I was in a Prado, and I looked behind and I saw this girl walking. Just there with her bag, it was Chioma.
“I told Lati omo I like that girl, go and call that girl for me.
“He called her but she did not answer me at the time. Later on, she came to Lagos and we linked up. And I was like, yeah, I got you.
Lateef Raimi Abiola popularly known as Lati or Lati DMW was born in Lagos born June 25, 1989. Davido’s wedding coincided with Lati’s birthday.
He has been with Davido since he lost his parents about 20 years ago. Davido was ten when they first met.
He is Davido’s assistant and also an A&R personnel (Artist and Repertoire) in the music industry. He plays a vital role within Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), Davido’s label.
Lati also accompanies Davido on tours worldwide, including concerts and shows, organising his schedule and controlling access to the music star.
In 2017, Davido bought him an oil tanker to help him fulfill his dream of setting up an oil and gas company called Latino General Merchants Nigeria Limited.
In 2019, Davido rewarded Lati by publicly giving him a multimillion naira Benz.
Lati introduced Davido to his wife, Chioma during his undergraduate days at Babcock University.
He is also a vlogger and has a YouTube channel called 30BG Motivations where he regularly posts inspirational videos.
Lati served as Davido’s best man at his star-studded traditional wedding held on the 25th of June, 2024.
