Hon. Adewale, other lawmakers visit Transport Ministry, LASPA, LAMATA on oversight function
Globaltimes The Chairman, House Committee on Transportation at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adewale Temitope Adedeji, OON (JP) has led his members on an oversight function to the Ministry of Transportation and agencies under its control.
They visited Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), and the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
Adewale, who is representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, and his committee members met with the State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi; the General Manager of LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu; and the General Manager of LAMATA, Abimbola Akinajo, at their respective offices.
During their visits, the members of the committee commended the progress made by the commissioner of Transport with the aim to evaluate how well the ministry had utilized its budgetary allocation and assess its needs ahead of the 2025 budget preparation.
However, the Commissioner thanked the House Committee for the visit and disclosed that over 85 percent of the 2024 budget had been actualized.
Adewale requested that the ministry submit its progress reports on projects executed and pending ones. He added that both parties would set a date for a visit to inspect the status of these projects.
The Committee members also stopped at the office of LASPA, where they were warmly received by the GM, Mrs. Adelabu and the office of LAMATA, where the GM, Mrs. Akinajo, shared the progress of LAMATA over the years, in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Head of the two agencies thanked the lawmakers for their visit and highlighted some of their achievements in office since they came into office.

The House committee chairman expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and requested the submission of LASPA’s progress reports to allow committee members to visit and inspect the agency projects.
During the discussion, she solicited the committee support in the area of budgeting, suggesting that fines paid by those who violate BRT corridor regulations should be reinvested into transport infrastructure, especially for maintaining bus stops facilitated by LAMATA..
