Education, the best legacy that can be given to anyone, has gotten a boost in Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 02 as the lawmaker representing the constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasheed Makinde handed over 150 slips of General Certificate Examination (Private) to residents of Ojokoro LCDA.
In a very brief event, held at the lawmaker’s constituency office at Ijaiye Ojokoro, Lagos, it has in attendance of party faithful and traditional rulers in the area.
Speaking to the beneficiaries about what informed his decisions to continue to give back to the community, more importantly in the area of education, Hon. Rasheed Makinde who was represented at the event by the High Chief (Engr.) Omolade Balogun, said that the best legacy that any parent can lay down for their children is education and it will have a great impact on society in a short period.
“We cannot afford our young ones to be left without given the basic education they needed to compete with their contemporaries across the globe. Hence, my decision with my team to mitigate in the area of West African Examination Council (Private) 2022, otherwise known as GCE. The Economy is not too friendly, and as individual or group we need to provide a soft landing for parents and guardians.”
He further said “All our programmes since 2019 have been in conformity with the THEMES Agenda of Mr. Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the party (APC) manifesto which is designed to make life meaningful for all and sundry.”
In his remark, the Part II Baale of Alakuko-Ajegunle community High Chief Sarumo-Dada said that the party needs to continue to present quality candidates for elective offices as he commended the choice of Hon. Makinde, whom he described as the best from 2015 to date.
He said that Makinde has never lost track in his quest to promote All Progressives Congress, APC, through his laudable programmes and facilitated projects to Ifako-Ijaiye 02 constituency.
While speaking the chairman All Progressives Congress APC, Hon. Jelil Oseni, has called for votes from the parents, guardian and families of the beneficiaries of the Hon. Makinde free GCE forms.
He said the only way the people can appreciate Hon. Makinde for this initiative, is by voting APC across board in the forthcoming General Elections in 2023.
The Chairman Makinde Formidable Movement, a socio-political group, Hon. Sunday Ajayi also used the medium to appeal to Governor Sanwo-Olu to help with the speedy commencement of work on the Road that was facilitated by Hon. Makinde through the office of the Lagos State Urban Renewal Authority, LASURA.
He said this will further open up community and ease traffic gridlock on the dilapidated Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and equally open up the community for economic prosperity.
Hon. Sunday Ajayi further stated that the road which in said can be used to ’embrass’ the opposition parties in the local council if completed.
He named the road as, Famuyiwa Street in Alakuko, Ajayi street on Baale Animashaun, Taiwo Street in Alagbado.
Others include, Adepegba Street in Abule-Egba, Gbeleyi Road in Amje-Ajegunle Lagos among others.
In a twilight of the event, Hon. Makinde promised all beneficiaries Free 2023 JAMB forms provided they made five or six credits in their GCE, opens forum for direct interactions.
